TROUBLE SETTING UP?
Quick steps to get AATV working.
Work through these in order. Tap a step to open it.
1Check your username and passwordLogin details are case sensitive
Make sure you’re entering your AATV username and password exactly as provided.
Case sensitive
Use the exact upper- and lowercase letters. “AATV123” and “aatv123” are different logins.
2Internet providers can block IPTVT-Mobile, AT&T, Spectrum and others
Some internet providers, such as T-Mobile, AT&T, and Spectrum, can block IPTV services during setup or while streaming. This can stop you from logging in or keep channels from loading.
If you’re on one of these providers, work through steps 3–6 below.
3Use a new modem if you have an older modelOlder gray or black T-Mobile modems
Many customers using the older gray or black T-Mobile modem have setup issues. Upgrading to the new white T-Mobile modem usually resolves the problem.
T-Mobile Home Internet app settings
Open the T-Mobile Home Internet app (T Life).
Create separate networks: one 2.4 GHz and one 5.0 GHz.
Don’t use the default “blended” network. Connect your device to the separate 2.4 or 5.0 GHz network.
✕ Older gray or black modem✓ New white modem (recommended)
4Allow AATV on your modem or routerOr turn off security filtering
Your internet provider’s security settings can block AATV. Try one of the following:
Allow AATV
In your modem or router settings, allow AATV or disable content filtering for AATV.
Turn off security settings
AT&T ActiveArmor: turn it off, or allow AATV in the app.
Other provider security or content-filtering features.
5Use a VPN (if still blocked)When your provider keeps blocking setup
If setup is still blocked, try connecting through a VPN. A VPN can help when your internet provider is blocking the connection, so you can complete setup.
Recommended
Use a reliable VPN service during setup. You can turn it off after setup if you like.
6Use your phone’s hotspot to complete setupFinish setup on mobile data
Connect your streaming device to your phone’s mobile hotspot (not Wi-Fi).
Log in and complete the setup while on the hotspot.
After setup is complete, switch back to your regular Wi-Fi.
7Check AATV playback settingsBuffering or freezing?
If you’re seeing buffering or freezing, adjust the buffer setting.
Open AATV Settings.
Select Playback.
Set Buffer Size to Large.
✓
Setup complete!
AATV should now be working on your regular Wi-Fi connection.
In the AATV app, this message may appear when your subscription has expired or when a live-event channel is no longer active. The message alone does not confirm the cause.
Switch to a different regular live channel.
Check your subscription renewal date.
If your plan has expired, contact AATV to renew.
If an active account still cannot play other channels, contact support.
02No channelsYour playlist is empty or out of date
If the app hasn’t been opened for a few days, the playlist may need a refresh. Confirm your subscription is active first.
Open AATV and select Settings in the bottom-left corner.
Select Playlist.
Tap Refresh Playlist and allow the update to finish.
Return to Live TV and try a channel.
03EPG / TV guide missingRefresh the program schedule
Open AATV Settings.
Select EPG.
Tap Update and allow the guide to finish loading.
Some custom channels do not have EPG.
Custom channels labeled “Hulu” or “HBO,” for example, may not display program listings. Missing guide data on those channels does not necessarily mean the stream is broken.
04Freezing or buffering?Follow these steps to narrow down the cause.
Try another channel. If only one channel buffers, report the channel name to support.
Check your connection. Move closer to your router or use Ethernet when available. Pause large downloads.
Restart your equipment. Restart your streaming device and modem/router, then reopen AATV.
Increase the playback buffer. If available in your app, go to Settings → Playback → Buffer → Large. This can help with brief interruptions.
Check your connection limit. Stop playback on other devices if you’ve reached your plan’s simultaneous stream limit.
Test another network. Try a phone hotspot briefly. If playback improves, your home network or its connection to the service may be contributing.
Connection limit reminder
Each plan allows a set number of devices streaming at the same time. Watching on more devices than your plan includes can interrupt playback.
Still buffering? Contact support with your device model, the channel name, the time of the issue, and whether other channels buffer too.
